This year, Casa de Esperanza has opened new doors to new life by expanding one of our most impactful programs. We are welcoming four additional university students into our sponsorship family. These young people are stepping through doors of opportunity that once felt closed to them.

To help explain the heart behind this mission, we use the diagram below, which outlines the Casa de Esperanza model:

A circle graph showing how good students become great citizens who then give back

This simple cycle captures our purpose. We identify good students who require assistance in getting a university education. Through their studies and whole-person development, they become great citizens, growing in character. This growth happens in both a civic sense and in a spiritual sense (citizens of God’s kingdom)! Eventually, they are equipped and inspired to give back to their communities.

Every time a student moves through this cycle, another door to new life opens—first for them, and then through them for someone else.

Recently, our Director of Operations, Guadalupe, met with each new student to help prepare them for the exciting transition into university life. She explained what to expect academically, the importance of healthy daily habits, and the responsibility of managing their monthly reports. Most importantly, she reminded them that God’s guidance is the key that opens every important door.

Our model is rooted in transformation: helping committed students walk through the door of education so they can become compassionate leaders, and ultimately open doors for the next generation.

Although these new students were not originally in our budget plans, several trusted leaders in Honduras recommended them. As a board, we felt that this was an opportunity we could not ignore.

Please join us in welcoming and supporting these four remarkable students and in praying for each one as they step into this new, life-changing opportunity.
